Introduction
to Digital Photography -
*
Please note date change to March 9
Get
a new camera? New to digital? This is a great place to
start. The goal of this class is to build a solid foundation
of photography skills and then introduce you to the power
of editing your pictures on the computer.
The
course is open to point and shoot, dslr and even film
camera owners.
Cameras
should be fun. You shouldn't be intimidated by the technology.
Instead, we'll use it to achieve your vision. Learn how
to use the camera's controls, work with shutter speed and
aperture
for creative
effect.
We'll
discuss and practice principles of depth of field, freezing
and blurring action, composition and
exposure.
Time
permitting,
we'll settle down at the computers and pull back the curtain
on the process of downloading your images, naming,
editing, and archiving. We'll use Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom
4 to perfect our pictures for email and print.
$175.00
per student.
Recommended Equipment:
Camera
- whatever you have; digital point and shoots, Dslrs and, of
course, film cameras are welcome also.
Camera
phones have made huge advances in the past couple of years.
Yet, still they offer few of the controls that even modest
point and shoots have as standard. So, a new rule of thumb
is that if you can make phone callsand
take pictures, maybe you should leave it in the bag.
