Whoa
nellie! What's this - we're gonna saddle up? That's right.
We've teamed up with Over the Hill Outfitters to ride to
their high camp in the spectacular Weminuche Wildnerness. This
promises to be a great opportunity to photograph alpine wildflowers,
rugged mountain landscapes, waterfalls, glacial lakes, and,
of course, authentic wranglers and horses.
Our
guides will pamper us with all meals, tents, and sleeping
gear. Don't worry about having to skimp on your camera
kit. Pack horses will carry our gear to camp.
You
need not be an experienced rider to enjoy this trip. However,
please be aware that camp is at 10,500 feet above sea level
and that we may ascend to as high as 12,500.
Class
is limited to 8 participants.
Alert,
Cuidado, Attenzione
If
you have any interest in attending this workshop, please
call us at the studio 970-247-2415. The US Forest Service
restricts the number of heartbeats on a guided pack trip
to 25; this includes horses, riders, squirells in your
pocket - whatever. Some of the spaces have filled already.
So, please give us a call if you would like to join us.

Zapata
Ranch - October 6-10, 2008
The
Zapata Ranch is one of the largest and most historic ranches
in the San Luis Valley. It's ecosystems span Alpine peaks,
aspen, pine and fir forests, high desert and even encompasses
part of the Great Sand Dunes. This will be a classic cowboy
workshop. We'll photograph horses, cattle,wranglers,
old ranch barns buildings, and, cinch up your overalls
- bison. We'll also take advantage of the magnicent natural
beauty and spend some time shooting landscapes.
We
hope to hit the color change at it's peak. In any event,
we should have some great weather, splendid color, and
we will have horses!
We
will stay and dine at the ranch so that we can fully concentrate
on our photography. We have booked 14 rooms, and have limited
the class to 12 students.
We'll
post more details soon. If your questions get the better
of you, call us.

Lake
Powell- Light, Red Rock, and Water -October
22-26, 2008
Explore
Lake Powell, one of the most unusual places on Earth.
Don't miss this opportunity to join nationally acclaimed
photographer, Christopher Marona, to photograph the majestic
red rock towers, reflections on the calm blue green waters
and exquisite water carved canyons. We'll travel via
houseboat with a crew to pamper us!
The
magic of Lake Powell is found in the stark contrasts of
red rock and blue water, of crisp light and sharp shadow.
We'll visit some of the more recognizable sites as well
as exploring side canyons. We'll gather around the campfire
at night after mooring, relax and share steaks and wine
as we discuss the day's shoot and set-up for the next day's
adventure.
Off
the boat, we'll drive to the nearby slot canyons where
you'll capture the uniqe light and shadow contrasts of
the sandstone passages.
Bring
lots of film (or cards) for this one. And don't forget
your swimsuit.
